On the Mike Smyth Show to talk an alleged rental glut

I was on the Mike Smyth Show (with Robin Gill hosting today) to talk about whether Vancouver is building too much rental housing.

Yes, rents are finally coming down, but like I say in this clip, we’re still a long ways from digging ourselves out of the deep hole we’ve dug for ourselves. There was essentially ZERO rental apartments built in Vancouver from the mid-70s to the early 2010s–the only new rental housing being built were condos that were put on the secondary market. It’s obvious that rents are still way too high and we have a long ways to go to have a functioning housing system:

No, there isn’t a glut of rental housing being built. It’s obvious: rents are still way too high! #vancouver #vanpoli #housing #housingcrisis
